Following on from a very successful MacMillan Coffee event in All Saints Church Thurlaston in September, and as part of the PCC’s desire to encourage everyone to visit the church, we will be holding another afternoon for everyone to come together to sample delicious cakes, meet up and enjoy a good chat.
Friday November 24th from 2.30 – 4.30 will see the first ‘Cake, Cuppa and Chat’ event in the historic village church, where as well as taking time to have a cuppa and some homemade cake, you will be able to wander around the lovely church, learn a little more about its long history and meet up with friends.
Children and families will be very welcome to join us at the end of the school day and there will be activities for the little ones to engage with too.
We will have plans available for you to view showing our ideas of ways to improve the interior of the building, with members of the PCC on hand to answer any questions you may have or to take your name if you wish to volunteer to help in and around the church. There is also the possibility that we may have representatives from the Rural Community Council ‘Wow’ team who offer creative ways to stay warm, well, and save a bit of money too.
Although we may not have a vicar for the foreseeable future, there will be several services and events up to Christmas, thanks to the help and support of our area dean. We are also extremely grateful for the wonderful support and interest from all the village to keep the church up and running, which is a real boost as we go forward.
Proceeds from this event will go towards the refurbishment of the church clock.
