Saint James Church in Huncote see the return of the very popular Cantamici Choir who will perform a concert entitled ‘Christmas is Coming!’ on Saturday 3rd December at 7.30
Father Andrew Lee and the members of Saint James Church are delighted to be chosen as the venue for the Cantamici Christmas Concert this year.
There will be a real Christmas atmosphere with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies served in the interval.
Cantamici is a choir of about forty voices founded in 1994. David Necklen took over as Music Director in 2005, and under his leadership Cantamici has continued to deserve its reputation for wide-ranging and high-quality performances in concert. They perform 5 or 6 concerts each year, many helping to raise money for local charities. The choir seeks to organise tours in this country or abroad every two years or so. The name “Cantamici” is derived from the Italian ‘cantare’, to sing, and amici meaning friends. Singing with friends remains an important principle underpinning the choir and several social events are built into our programme each year.
There is always a great demand as local people know of the high standard of this choir, who sound wonderful in the excellent acoustics of St James Church, so it is worth booking early to avoid being disappointed.
Tickets are £8.00 and include an interval glass of mulled wine or non-alcoholic drink and mince pies and are available from Diane May 07763 475804 or 0116 2863693 or from other church members.
