Huncote WI has enjoyed a wide range of speakers over the last few months. In April we were entertained with a talk entitled “On my doorstep”. The topic was photography.

It’s all go this summer at Leicester Animal Aid, a dog and cat rescue charity, based in Huncote. Work is underway to refurbish our outside cat sanctuary thanks to a grant from the Pets at Home Foundation.

Easter - In beautiful weather on Good Friday Fr Andrew held a Stations of the Cross service on The Green at 12 noon. The readings at different stages of Jesus’s path to crucifixion reminded us of the pain of the Easter story followed by the joy of His resurrection.

A local rescue and re-homing charity for cats and dogs is excited to be welcoming the public back through its doors to see the animals that are waiting for new homes.

Although it was rather a cold day for the Walking Market on 3 April, members of St James Church and the Huncote Knitters would like to thank everyone who visited their stalls and gave so generously.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Marie Curie Coffee Morning held in St James Church Rooms on Wednesday 23 March. This was a beautiful sunny day and the chance to have a tea or coffee and some delicious cake proved to be too much to resist and resulted in a very well attended event.

Parts are available in our upcoming show Stand and Deliver, a hilarious comedy set on a maternity ward, which we’re hoping to put on at Thurlaston Village Hall on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th September this year.

Huncote WI Huncote WI continues to thrive. We were very grateful to St James Church for allowing us to hold three meetings, August, September and October, in the church itself. In fact we began to feel very much at home…
