Danemill Diary April 2022

Yesterday we welcomed back our Year 4s from their first residential trip to Beaumanor. They had the best time, enjoying team building, bridge building and many other activities. They returned with lots of smiles, memories, and very sleepy faces.

We had eyes down for our Easter Bingo, thank you to our local Mill Lane Co-op for donating our star prize. We had a great turn out and parents and children had a great evening and won lots of lovely prizes.

On March 3rd we saw Princesses, Wizards, Superheroes, and a Tin Man, when pupils and staff dressed in some great costumes for World Book Day. We also held our Apprentice Challenge where the children thought up their own business ideas and sold their products at our Danemill Market. The children raised over £800 doing this, which gets us a step closer to being able to buy our pupils the much-wanted Treehouse. March the 18th was Red Nose Day. We raised £276 for Comic Relief on our non-uniform day.

Our children are looking forward to our upcoming events: Holi Festival – the Hindu Festival of Colours will be very colourful as we have invited parents in to watch our children share their learning through dance and the tradition of throwing coloured powder paint. Our Easter Bonnet Parade is always extremely popular with our children, and it is lovely to see the creations and effort that goes into these amazing bonnets.

Our Summer Fair will be held on Friday June 24th from 3:30pm. All are welcome to come along for some delicious food, ice cream, games and have a browse over the many stalls.
