Following the U3A open day on May 4th we were delighted to welcome some new members to our May monthly meeting.
Our entertainment was provided by the very talented “Fools Gold” a husband and wife duo from Durham who presented a musical delight with their “Stormy Stories and Tragic Tales” With a variety of instruments, songs and very cleverly constructed films we were taken through a musical history of life from long ago. There were a few sad little tales but gradually some familiar old tunes emerged and the audience were encouraged to join in a few refrains. By the time we got to Molly Malone we were getting quite enthusiastic. On demanding an encore, we had a rousing selection of well known favourites culminating in ‘Show me the way to go home’. Unsurprisingly nobody wanted to go!
Enderby U3A meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Civic centre but as well as the monthly meeting we offer a wealth of differing activities in groups of varying sizes.
