Enderby Bake Off

There were cakes to cater for all tastes at the Enderby Parish Council’s annual Bake Off this year; ranging from vegan cakes, citrus drizzle cakes, patriotic cakes to the tempting range on offer in the refreshments area.

Our thanks go to this year’s judges who were the Chairman of the Parish Council John Jones, Liz Smith of ‘Dunton Cakes’ and Enderby baker Judith Newton. As usual they had the very enviable if difficult task of tasting all the entries in order to decide on the winners. Congratulations go to this year’s ‘Star Bakers’, Phoebe, who is a pupil at Brockington College and Mick Hall, the landlord of the New Inn.

There was a really lovely atmosphere at the Civic Centre as everyone sampled the cakes along with a cup of tea and a chat with other members of the community. The ‘Top Co-op’ very kindly donated a hamper of baking supplies as a raffle prize. The lucky winner will have enough ingredients to keep them busy baking for quite some time.

The Parish Council would like to thank the Co-op, everyone who took the time to bake a cake for the event and all those who came along to enjoy their efforts. A pleasant way to spend the afternoon.
