Enderby Community Library August 2022

Our Summer Sizzlers has been great fun for all those who have joined in. The first Womble had to be cancelled due to the heatwave and one of the Mill Lane activity days started off in the rain (such is summer!) but still very enjoyable. Some of the Lego creations are on display in the library and have been admired by other children. There is also a lovely crafted butterfly display. We will continue with these activities till the end of the school holidays so check for details on FB and in the library. We are still running the normal pre-schoolers playtime on the last Wednesday of the month so the next one will be 31st August, 2 till 3.

We have signed up a lot of children for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge on the theme ‘Gadgeteers’. It’s still not too late to join as the challenge runs till the 10th September. Children can read books on any subject to earn their prizes.

We will be running a tombola in aid of library funds at the Park in the Park event on the 17th September organised by the Parish Council. This was a popular event last year with some beautiful old vehicles to admire and tasty food and drinks to enjoy from various stalls.

Pop in and order a personalised bookmark either for yourself or as a little present you can put into someone’s birthday card. There are a lot of designs to choose from. £1 each, money to library funds.

Don’t forget all our regular activities – Busy Hands every Monday, Games Group first Wednesday of the month, Creative writing last Saturday, pre-schoolers last Wednesday, coffee morning once a month (September’s on the 10th , October’s on the 15th and November’s on the 12th).

A reminder that new stock comes in every Thursday and there are always pre-loved books for sale. Limited space means we can’t have all the ‘for sale’ books out except on coffee mornings but there is always a bookcase of them available.
