Well, we’ve certainly been busy over the last month or so. We held our annual fund-raising quiz with over seventy people coming together in teams to battle it out. Thanks to Geoff – quizmaster, & Nathan – scorer, for keeping the evening on track and to the library volunteers who prepped, served and cleared away the supper.
The following week the library hosted a talk by Elizabeth York – Chair of Enderby Heritage Society – about the 1921 Census, with specific references to Enderby. Thirty-eight people attended and Elizabeth was both knowledgeable and generous with her time to support people in tracing ancestors.
Our February half term activities proved popular with school age children plus carers enjoying crafting activities, Lego and games. The next school holiday session is Thursday 4th April, 2.30-4pm, £2 per child. Once again, there’ll be a range of crafting and games so do come along.
Our regular weekly and monthly activities continue to be popular. Pre-school sessions which provide stimulation and simple craft experiences are on the last Tuesday of the month 2-3pm – next session is 24th April. Busy Hands, 2.30-4pm on Mondays (Tuesday 2nd April as the library is closed Easter Monday); Adult Games group meet the first Wednesday of the month 2-4pm, next session 3rd April; Creative Writing is Saturday 6th April and will then revert to the last Saturday of the month (27th April); Adult Social Crafting next session 9th April. Thanks to our Busy Hands and Adult social crafters for some of our Spring fund raising items. These have proved popular and are available at the library.
Once again, we will be celebrating the Bard’s anniversary – a little early – with our Shakespeare evening 18th April 7-9.30pm. Tickets are £6 to include refreshments and are available from the library. We’re also looking forward to welcoming you to our Spring coffee morning on Saturday 13th April 10-1pm. Come along for a chat, cuppa, cake and buy some books from our pre-loved selection.
Finally, a big thank you from all of us for your continued support of our events and activities, we really do appreciate it. If your interest has been raised by any of the above, please pop into the library and have a chat with one of the volunteers, there’s something for everyone and we even lend books!
