Enderby Community Library September 2022

Barbara and her helpers thank all who joined in with our Summer Fun and Games during the school holidays. Everyone had a wonderful time indoors and outside. Also great fun is the pre-schoolers playtime on the last Wednesday of the month. Great fun for the little ones and their carers. The next one will be 28th September, 2 till 3.

We will have the popular indoor games (Lego, Marble Run, Domino runs etc) available in the library during the October half term holiday, Tuesday to Friday, 2.30 till 4, £2 per child.

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is now finished. Please remember to pick up any outstanding rewards from the library. We will hold on to them for a couple of weeks. It was great to see so many children joining in with this (and the wooden medals are much nicer than the plastic ones).

Hopefully you will receive your copy of the Journal in time to remind you of the Park in the Park event on Mill Lane rec on the 17th September. We will be running a tombola in aid of library funds. You will also see some beautiful old vehicles and can enjoy food and drinks.

Our personalised bookmarks are proving popular. Only £1 each.

We will be celebrating National Poetry Day again this year on Thursday 6th October. Julia will be encouraging us to share poems old and new with like-minded people. Doors open 6.30 for 7pm. £6 per person to include a drink and nibbles. There is a theme this year – The Environment – which will make it a bit different from previous years. Tickets from the library during open hours or phone us on 3053523 to reserve yours. Books will be provided.

We have arranged for a representative from the National Garden Scheme (aka Open Gardens) to give a talk on the scheme. This will be on Saturday 22nd October and will last for approximately 45 minutes. Tickets will be £5. More details to follow.

We are looking to change our opening hours to allow us to open one morning a week. We have forms in the library asking for customer views on this. Please come in and let us know what you think.
