Enderby Library February 2022

Our ‘Annual’ quiz was enjoyed by all, winners and losers. It’s really just a fun way to spend an evening with your friends. The questions were taxing but not impossible (mostly!) and very varied. The supper was tasty. All in all, a good evening was had by all. We hope to see even more of you at the next one. 50 tickets sold was about right in these Covid-conscious times but 80 would be good when we’re back to normal.

The first pre-schoolers session of the year was very popular. It’s lovely to see all the tinies and their carers enjoying themselves. The theme was ‘Tigers’ to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The next dates are 23rd February and 30th March, 2 till 3, £1 per child. Activities will vary but most will help develop fine motor skills and sensory awareness. Most importantly though they are great fun!
Barbara is putting the finishing touches to the February half-term holiday activities. There will be plenty of free self-led activities all week (e.g. jigsaws, Lego, PLAYDOH, card games, lots of drawing and colouring materials) and on Tuesday 15th February a special crafting session 2.30 till 4, £2 per child. Plenty of creations to take home with you!
The February Over 60s games group (1st Wednesday of the month 2 till 4) was special as they also celebrated the birthday of one of the players. They always seem to be having a whale of a time!
The first coffee morning of 2022 was as popular as ever. Lovely to see the ‘old’ faces and the new coming in for tea and cake and book-buying. We get several family groups come in regularly which is so nice. We are aiming to have a coffee morning every month this year. March’s will be on the 12th.

The next adult social crafting (with the emphasis on ‘social’) – Tuesday 8th March ‘Signs of Spring’. 2.30 till 4 to include tea and cake and chat. £2.50 per person.
Creative Writing is on the last Saturday of the month 10.30 till 12, £1 pp. It’s lovely to see examples of their work appearing in the Journal.
Quick reminder – we welcome donations of pre-loved books and jigsaws and if you’ve any unwanted Christmas gifts we could raffle, we’d love those as well.
