A local rehoming Centre for cats and dogs is running free workshops during the summer holidays to help children build confidence around dogs.

Leicester Animal Aid is putting on the one-hour fun interactive sessions, which are aimed at five to 16-year-olds, at its Centre in Huncote. The K9 Kids workshops, which are led by an experienced dog professional along with his friendly dog, cover things such as what to do when meeting a dog you don’t know and how to understand dogs’ body language. The sessions are for both children that are wary of dogs and those that are comfortable around them.
