A local cat and dog rehoming Centre is offering free workshops to youngsters to help them build confidence around dogs.

Leicester Animal Aid is running sessions over the summer holidays at its Centre in Huncote.  The July workshop is already fully booked but there are spaces available on the on 7th and 21st August.  There is also a session in the October half-term.

The one-hour workshops will help children know what to do when they meet a dog they don’t know and to understand a dog’s body language.  There will also be an opportunity to practice meeting a real dog safely and responsibly.

The workshops are open to youngsters aged six to 16 and are great for those who are happy around dogs and those who are nervous and anxious.  Under eights must be accompanied by an adult.

You can book a free place through L.A.A.’s website www.leicesteranimalaid.org.uk/events
