HMC is a now a vibrant centre for many activities here in the village. These include: Girls and Boys Brigade (ages 4-18); Music Group; Community library; ECO fellowship meetings; Lunch and breakfast clubs; Tots Play; Church services.
The Methodist Church and community groups here in Huncote have diversified their offering to accommodate the changing demographics of the village. The Brigade is a bedrock of the calendar with over 40 children attending each week during term time. The group is split into four age categories with plenty of trained leaders in attendance.
The library remains ever popular with a great selection of books available. The opening times are always updated on the website. There is a monthly book club and activities for children. Look out for events on Facebook.
New to the calendar are the music groups and ECO fellowship meetings. On a Tuesday evening from 6.30 onwards the doors are open for budding musicians, We already have guitarists, vocals, keyboard and drums. The session is an informal chance to play an instrument at whatever level with a group of like minded friends. The ECO fellowship meeting is borne out of the current ECO program HMC is involved in. We have currently been awarded our Bronze award and working hard towards a Silver, hopefully in the new year. This group meets on a Thursday night and over coffee discusses ways in which we can improve our environmental footprint at the church and in the community.
HMC enjoys monthly services with Rev Helen Bell. These occur on the last Thursday of each month and are enjoyed by all. We are fortunate to have a wonderful hall within the church complex with a modern kitchen. This allows us to provide a great facility for the lunch and breakfast clubs along with the weekly tots group. The hall is often hired out for private functions.
For lot more about the church and all the facilities, please pop in and have a look at the website.
