Huncote WI January 2024

Huncote WI have enjoyed a busy year with many excellent speakers arranged by our programme planners. We particularly enjoyed: Royal Yacht Britannia by Bill Haley; Women’s Olympic Story by Ken Kelly and Quiz Show Junkies by Stephanie and Trevor Mee. Recently, Ian Rogerson educated us about delicious cheeses, bringing along samples for us to taste and purchase. Who knew that charcoal cheese tasted so good? He interspersed his talk with amusing anecdotes and jokes. The photograph shows some members sampling unfamiliar cheeses.

Our membership remains at a healthy 32, the majority of whom live in Huncote but we are fortunate to have members from Croft, Enderby and Narborough.

Our monthly meetings are held at 7:30pm in St James’ Church Rooms, Narborough Rd. Huncote. Visitors will be made very welcome, so why not give us a try? After the speaker, we enjoy refreshments (this usually includes cake!) and time to mix socially. We arrange various outings and events throughout the year in addition to those organised by our County Federation. Our speaker topic in February is “Chocolate” and in March, “Walking the Camino de Santiago”.
