Here at Leicester Animal Aid in Huncote, we do everything we can to ensure that the cats and dogs we rehome are matched with their pawfect families. Sometimes it can only take a few weeks to find a new home for our residents, for others it can take much longer.
Almost 18 months ago, four Cane Corso cross puppies arrived at the Centre. They had lived in an unsuitable environment and were underweight and very nervous. Two of the four brothers found new homes relatively soon, but sadly for Reef and Nile this wasn’t the case.
We were so happy that in January, after more than a year with us, Reef found his new family. He has taken a little while to settle and adjust, but his family are very patient and understanding and Reef is now enjoying the life he deserves.
Sadly, Nile is still with us and we are hoping that there is someone special out there who will welcome him into their hearts and home, too. You can find out more about Nile and the type of home he is looking for on our website.
On the cat front, siblings Brie and Cranberry came to us as kittens over a year ago. We wanted them to be adopted as a duo and the playful pair were happily rehomed together in January. Although it took us more than 12 months to find them a home, they are now content and happy, and we hear that they’ve settled in so well it’s almost as if they’ve always been there.
One little boy who has been left behind watching other cats come in and then go home, is Pepper (see his picture on the front page). He can be shy and nervous until you get to know him, which is probably why he has been overlooked so far. He has his paws crossed that he will find his forever home soon. Pop over to our website to find out more about this adorable little chap.
