Enderby & District Ramblers

The longer days are now allowing us to open up our programme to longer walks and more far flung destinations as we head into the great British summer time.

As an example our next Sunday coach ramble on 17 July will be heading to Ironbridge with its famous gorge through which the River Severn winds on its long journey to the Bristol Channel. Guests are welcome on our coach rambles so long as you haven’t previously done three guest walks with us. For more details contact Eileen via email coach@ramblers-leicester.org.uk.

We are continuing to innovate with a new initiative “Car Free Walks” which take place on Fridays and give non drivers a set of options to use either bus or train to access walks. Distances vary starting from 9 miles. You can obtain more details from Charles via email secretary@ramblers-leicester.org.uk

Wednesday evening walks are now also in the calendar until high summer. These are relatively short walks open to all but particularly useful to unwind if you are still of working age and maybe are coming off a stressful day in the office. See our weekly Facebook updates for more information or go to our website.

Finally we are keen to stress that we are always pleased to see new faces on our walks and as mentioned previously you can walk with us and be insured with us on up to three occasions. Some walks are short for example 4 miles, others far longer such as 14 miles. As long as you are confident in your own level of fitness we will always be welcoming and inclusive, adjusting our walk pace on the day to ensure that everyone participating is comfortable.
