Littlethorpe Life March 2023

Easter Egg Hunt: For our next event, we are pleased to say that the Littlethorpe Easter Egg Hunt will take place again in its usual format on Littlethorpe Park and Thorpe Meadow. It will take place from 10.30am on Good Friday 8th April. Winners will be drawn around midday.

Come along and hunt out the clues. Entry is £1.50 per child. All entrants will receive a small Easter treat, with the drawn winners receiving a larger egg. We hope to be serving teas, coffees, hot dogs etc too. Fingers crossed for good weather!

Senior Citizens’ Summer Trip: This year the trip is planned for Wednesday 14th June and is a trip to Trentham Gardens in Staffordshire including afternoon tea. Tickets are £25 per person available from Liz or Jackie. Please phone 07840 736715 for more info.

Litter pick: A few of the villagers joined forces one Sunday morning in February to tackle some of the litter which had accumulated, particularly in the hedgerows near the park and river. Within a couple of hours we had managed to clear 12 black bags’ worth of rubbish. Look out on the LCA Facebook page for details of any future litter picks.

Our regular LCA activities will be continuing as usual:

Art Club: The Art Club continues in the village hall on Biddle Road on Tuesdays 2pm-4pm. The cost is £4.00 per session. For more information contact Tom Bates on 0116 275 2656.

Drop-in Coffee Morning: The Drop-Ins also continue to take place on the second Saturday of the month, 10.00-12.00, also in the village hall.

Book Sale, Coffee Morning & Warm Space: This takes place every other Wednesday 9am-1pm in the village hall on Biddle Rd. We have also received a grant from the council to be able to offer soup and a bread roll at lunchtime, so we hope to welcome faces old and new.

Feel Good Walks: Gill Ward is continuing to lead the Feel-Good Walks, which have been very successful. They take place every Thursday morning from The Plough carpark, ready to set off at 10.15am. There is no need to book. The walks will be at a leisurely pace and finish at approximately midday.

Short Mat Bowls: This runs on Thursdays 7pm-9pm in the village hall. New members are welcome.

LCA meetings: The committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month, alternately in The Plough and The Old Inn. New faces are always welcome.
