Julie Payne School of Dance is celebrating 40 years of dance since opening its doors in Enderby for the first time back in 1982. The dance school has provided a safe haven for children of all ages to learn a new skill whilst making friends and building their confidence. Miss Julie has been providing lessons in ballet, tap, theatre, gym and modern ever since.
Whilst enrolled at the dance school, students have the opportunity to earn dance qualifications, via exams, which they can use towards UCAS points or take with them into a dance career, which many of her past students have. The students also perform on stage every year during the dance schools’ annual showcase, with this year’s being held at Countesthorpe College theatre from the 10th-12th November. As this year is a very special celebration Miss Julie would love to hear from any past pupils and invite you to come and celebrate with her at the showcase (more information at stagestubs.com).
Throughout the years Miss Julie has gained recognition from Blaby district council, she was awarded runner up for Coach of the Year in 2015 and given a special recognition award in 2017 from the Blaby District LSA Sports Awards. Most recently, the dance school and Miss Julie have been part of Positive Activity Referral Scheme in partnership with Blaby District Council, which provides a sport and physical activity pathway for young people to help increase their activity levels, improve self-confidence and help to reduce anxiety. Miss Julie has committed her life to making her students happy and confident whilst providing a high standard of teaching.
Classes are currently held at Enderby Village Institute from 14 months upwards, if you would like any more information on how to join our dance family please email us at juliepaynedance@hotmail.com or via our Facebook page JPA Dance and Julie Payne School of Dance and Theatre Arts.
