As part of this year’s English Tourism Week from 15-24 March 2024, Alberto Costa MP met with creative crafters in Cosby to check on their work to drive tourism as well as support people’s wellbeing.
The South Leicestershire MP visited as part of English Tourism Week which this year, celebrated the part community plays in boosting visitor numbers.
Alberto Costa MP met with representatives of the Cosby Yarn Bomb on Friday 22 March to discuss the difference that they have made to the area and the fantastic work that they continue to do in supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing.
He was invited by Blaby District Council and the Visit Blaby District Tourism Partnership, who work together to showcase the fantastic things on offer in the District for visitors and residents.
The Cosby Yarn Bomb Festival is an annual event which had around 20,000 visitors in 2023 and this year, marks its sixth anniversary. It was created by, and continues to be driven by the local community. Taking place from 10-31 July 2024, the village of Cosby will be decorated with incredible knitted and crocheted installations, with the theme of Fun & Games, Mischief & Mayhem.
