With quite a few Lurchers staying at Leicester Animal Aid, the Charity are calling out to Sighthound-lovers in search of new pets.
Lurchers, a Sighthound crossbreed, are wonderful dogs that make fantastically loving companions. They are commonly an amiable and gentle breed, usually with a quiet temperament (though they still love their fast zoomies like most Sighthounds do). They have become a very popular dog in the UK, and their traits can vary quite widely as they have been crossbred with so many other breeds.
Jingle has been staying with the Charity since November 2022 and is yet to meet his match. He loves to run around like a typical Lurcher, and at other times can be found sunbathing. Being quite a sociable boy, Jingle absolutely loves cuddles and will be sure to give you plenty of them. He can sometimes be a bit cheeky and giddy, and how could you not love those floppy ears? Hopefully this beautiful Lurcher won’t have to see another Christmas at L.A.A. without a family to call his own. Could you show him into a loving home?
Kenny found his way to L.A.A. sadly as a stray six months ago, and has not yet found his forever family. Though he is quite nervous, this handsome chap is very loving once trust has been built. Kenny really does love his toys, especially playing around with his football. Being the active and clever boy that he is, he will need consistent training and mental stimulation to show off his intellect and to keep him entertained. Is there a spot in your life for a dog like Kenny to show some love to?
Biscoff and Midge, best puppy pals, arrived at the Centre in March as a pair and they plan to keep it that way. These two typical puppies are very playful together and could live with older teenagers in the right setting. Biscoff and Midge are a little bit nervous, but their confidence is growing with Midge often looking to Biscoff for guidance. The way to their hearts is definitely through food, which can be used positively in reward training and will help to build their confidence further. Are you searching for a dynamic duo to add to your family? Look no further than Biscoff and Midge!
If you are interested in any of these Lurchers, or are searching for a new pet to adopt, visit Leicester Animal Aid’s website to view the cats and dogs available at https://www.leicesteranimalaid.org.uk
