All Saints Church in Thurlaston was full of people enjoying delicious cakes and a good chat on September 29th, all in aid of a very good cause – Macmillan Cancer Care. The wonderful sum of £420 was raised for the charity, but also it was lovely to see our historic church full of friends and villagers. The children joined us later in the afternoon, when as well as being sure to sample one or two cakes, they were able to have a go at several activities to help keep them busy.

Our grateful thanks to everyone who supported this event, whether by baking the delicious cakes and biscuits or coming along to support it, also to the skilled flower arrangers who brightened the church up with their beautiful arrangements – it was lovely that these will still be in place for the Harvest service on October 1st and the following week’s Sunday afternoon service.
