Grease is the word! Our most recent trip was to Kilworth House Theatre on September 7th to see the final performance of ‘Grease’, following its 6-week run. Our journey to the theatre was exciting, with just a few miles to go we were greeted by a police car blocking the road due to a fallen tree. Our coach driver persuaded the police that he could squeeze through a gap and we arrived in good time to enjoy our pre-show picnics in the grounds.
This production was certainly one of their best – great costumes and staging, and a really talented and energetic cast. We were thoroughly entertained by the well-known crowd-pleasing classics including ‘Summer Nights’ and ‘You’re the One that I Want’. The incredible staging included the transformation of a car, from battered to pristine, during ‘Grease Lightning’. The show finished with an enthusiastic standing ovation with an emotional cast at the end of their run. Thank you Kilworth House Theatre, we will be back!
Once again we have some great events coming up. We are trying out some new venues including The Venture Theatre at Ashby de la Zouch to see ‘Done to Death, by Jove’, a comedy in October, and then The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield to see ‘Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift’ in November. Our Christmas Social is on November 30th and, following the success of the pantomime at Loughborough Town Hall last year, we are returning to see this year’s production of ‘Cinderella’ in December. Oh yes we are!!!! We are also booking shows for 2026.
