Narborough and Littlethorpe Community Library

Once again the library is looking bright and cheery with Easter decorations made by the Busy Hands and Minds group. They have much more planned too as they are busily preparing for the Queen’s Jubilee in June. It certainly makes the centre of the village a brighter place to be and we are so pleased the Parish council decided to reinstate the bench for people to meet with friends and enjoy the garden.

On the 23rd of March we marked World Maths Day, one of the world’s largest global educational events. Its aim is to connect the global learning community and foster friendships between children of different cultures as they learn to excel in mathematics together.

The Quiz held at the beginning of April was a great success and those that attended had a good time too. The winning team “Grumpy Old Women” were not so grumpy when they left! Our next big event will be the Grand Raffle, which will be drawn at the Summer Event on July 2nd to be held at the library. Tickets will be on sale soon. Don’t forget we will take any unwanted gifts for our tombola or raffle along with any items that we could sell to raise much-needed funds.

As of April 6th we have returned the library to its Pre Covid layout so there is no need to use the side gate anymore. We are asking visitors and volunteers to wear masks if they would like to but we will still be keeping the screens and sanitising routines the same for some time to come.

We would like to thank all our volunteers for  helping keep the library open during these last two difficult years and in particular Andrea Collingridge who has tirelessly kept the library covid compliant and safe – and she has undertaken all the cleaning for which we are eternally grateful.
