Narborough and Littlethorpe Community Library July 2022

We were delighted with the wonderful Jubilee display both inside and outside of the library and thank everyone for their dedication to making our library a brighter place to be. Come along to the Busy Hands and Minds group if you would like to get involved.

Thanks to a new volunteer, Emily, our first monthly Book Club held on June 23rd was a great success. The library was full of lively chatter as the group met up and collected their first book “Where the Crawdad’s Sing”. The Book Club will meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7.30pm so if you love reading, would like to make new friends and share a favourite read please come along.

Our group Wriggly Readers  is proving to be very popular, with children aged 12 weeks old to 4 years old attending regularly. The sessions are a mix of stories, songs and activities to accommodate all ages. Sue, who runs the group is keen to keep the group going throughout the  school holidays too.

The Summer Reading Challenge started on July 2nd and after the fantastic take up last year we hope to see this year’s participants do as well and complete the three challenges by the end of the summer. Good Luck !

Our Summer Fair and grand raffle was a great success and raised well over £600. Our thanks go to all the local businesses who supported us by donating raffle prizes. This money goes towards the cost of running the library and the community groups it runs.

Our library is completely run by volunteers who give of their time to provide a much needed service in the villages. We are a very friendly bunch and would love to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer in some capacity. If you are a student on holiday from University or are waiting to go to University/College and would like to add volunteering to your CV then get in touch now.  We’re always looking for people to help run and organise activities and events so if that is your interest we’d be pleased to hear from you too.
