As we march towards the summer we are pleased to report that the first Craft Evening held at the library, and thanks to Barbara Spence, was a brilliant success. All participants made a wonderful Jubilee rag wreath to hang on their front door. Please do look out for them around the villages.
The Busy Hands and Minds group have planned a display for the Jubilee week and Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, will take centre stage.
We are pleased to say that, thanks to a new volunteer, we will be starting a Wriggly Readers group for the Under 5s. This will be a mix of stories, singing and activities. The group will start on Tuesday June 7th from 9.15 until 11 am. As this is a new group, Sue is keen to develop it to suit those wanting to attend. Please look out for more information in our posters and on the website and Facebook.
Our next big fundraiser will be the GRAND SUMMER RAFFLE. We are delighted to say we have had many wonderful prizes donated by local businesses to which we are very grateful. As a completely self-funded Community library we depend on the donations made and money raised through our events. The tickets are on sale at the library NOW.
Ist Prize – 3 months Family Membership at Living Well Health Club
2nd Prize – Luxury Food Hamper from ASDA
3rd Prize – £30 Food and Drink Voucher for the Narborough Arms
4th Prize – Dinner set from NEXT
Plus many, many more super prizes – the Raffle will be drawn on July 2nd at the library.
The library is now able to take card payments thanks to Blaby District Council Community Grants Scheme. Card payments can be made for any items in the library including raffle tickets!!
