By the time you read this you will know if the weather allowed the library volunteers to hold the children’s book sale on the afternoon of 23rd October outside the library. Fingers crossed it did and that we raised a good amount.
The Quiz at the Parish Centre on 11th October was successful and great fun with an edge of competition for some. When the next one is held, come along and join in.
We have been delighted with the response to the leaflet drop in Narborough and Littlethorpe. New volunteers have been warmly welcomed, and on 29th October have been invited to an afternoon in the library for tea and cake, and to meet other library volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a library volunteer, please pop in for a chat when it’s open, ring on 0116 3053706 or email us at nandlclibrary@gmail.com .
At the beginning of November all four local nursery schools are being invited to colour in something which will be displayed outside the library. Do make a point of looking out for this artistic show from the local little ones. It’s always a cheering sight.
Before then, do stop and look at the fabulous Halloween display outside the library which has been created by the Busy Hands and Minds Group. They are now crafting away for the Christmas Tree Festival which is being held at All Saints Church from 5th to 8th December. Join us for crafting or socialising on the first and third Fridays of the month. All are welcome!
We had visits from Greystoke Primary School last academic year and they hope to continue bringing groups of students to the library again this year starting in November.
Lastly, please remember to put a note on your calendars or in your phones for December 7th when it will be the Connecting Narborough ‘Light Up Narborough’, and when the library will have a winter fayre of crafts and gifts for sale together with a children’s bran tub and a free colouring competition. It should be a great day for everyone. Tell all your friends!
