In January, 17 members went to the De Montfort Hall to see The Classic Rock Show. A rousing performance with everything from the heavy metal of AC/DC to Led Zeppelin to a softer set of Doobie Brothers’ “Listen to the Music”, Beatles’ “Get Back”, Rolling Stones’ “Gimme me Shelter” and Bonnie Tyler’s ballad “Total Eclipse of the Heart”. The audience were on their feet for the tribute to the late Meat Loaf’s “Bat out of Hell”. The very talented musicians and singers, supported by a fabulous light show, finished with encores of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and The Who’s song with a message “Don’t Get fooled Again”. A brilliant night of live music.
The NALT AGM is being held on Friday, February 25th at 7:30 pm in Littlethorpe Village Hall.
Following the AGM business, we will be entertained once again by Oliver Stanley who members will remember from “The Picnic in the Park” last summer. This time he is going to talk to us about his theatrical career. If you wish to find out more about NALT, now would be an excellent time. We issue an open invitation to any Journal readers who would like to come along to the AGM. Our new programme has just been made available and we currently have bookings open for 4 productions:
“Mr Bennet’s Bride” at The Priory Theatre, Kenilworth; “Sandi Toksvig Live” at Warwick Arts Centre; “Cluedo” at Curve; “Half a Sixpence” at Kilworth House Theatre.
Membership of NALT is open to all Journal readers. There are 3 pick up points in Littlethorpe and Narborough or you can use your own transport to the venue. Please contact our membership secretary, Pauline on 0116 2751299 or email pollyaha@icloud.com for more information.
