Narborough & Littlethorpe WI May 2022

We came second in the skittles! A great result for us!

We had a lovely time sampling different “pub grub” and meeting fellow WI’s. We have now got 2 teams in the darts competition so watch this space for more trophy news!

Our speaker in April was John Martin who told us all about Colin Dexter, how he came to be an author after being a school teacher and how Inspector Morse got to be such a loved TV policeman! We’ve had to rearrange our speakers for the next 2 months due to the knock-on effect of the covid restrictions! Our speaker for our May meeting is Julia Willis telling us all about Spinning-Wool & Sheep; let’s hope she brings just the wool and not a sheep! Our June speaker will be Dr Ben Coyle from EMICS, who will enlighten us about the duties of a volunteer medic! This should be very interesting, especially after the 2 years we’ve just had!

Before covid our WI had day trips to various interesting places to which we usually invited members of other local WIs. These were always enjoyed by those who went on them so we are now trying to arrange some for this year.

We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (not December) at 7.30pm in St Pius X church hall, Narborough; please feel free to come along, a warm welcome awaits you!
