The brand new, state-of-the-art, soft play at Enderby Leisure Centre has received a hugely positive reception after opening to the public on Saturday.
Courtesy of a £300,000 investment by facility operator Everyone Active, the soft play is positioned in the sports hall alongside three of the existing badminton courts. Everyone Active runs the centre in partnership with Blaby District Council.
The soft play is suitable for up to 122 juniors and 56 babies and toddlers and includes:
Following the soft launch on Saturday 16 December, an official opening weekend is planned for Saturday and Sunday, January 13-14. Children will be able to play for 45 mins in return for a £1 donation to Dementia UK, Everyone Active’s charity partner. Sessions are available to book via the app or at reception.
James Naylor, Everyone Active’s contract manager, said: “We have had a fantastic response from customers so far to the new soft play. It is a superb facility and a brilliant way to get young people active, with a variety of activities and areas included. It allows them to engage with their peers in a fun and safe environment, while improving their physical and mental health.”
Work is ongoing to add a further 50 spaces to the car park at the centre, extending its overall capacity to 279 spaces.
Funded by a £188,000 investment from Blaby District Council, the extension will be positioned to the left side of the centre as viewed from Mill Lane, with work due to be completed by the first week of January 2024.
