Pastures Pinboard June 2025

There was great excitement when a ‘pop-up’ swimming pool was erected on part of the school’s playground! The children enjoyed their lessons in the heated water, developing their swimming and water safety skills.

Children in Foundation Stage had a wonderful day at Westlodge Farm learning about the animals. They watched the sheep being sheared, stroked baby goats and chicks, bottle fed the lambs and saw the piglets racing round a track! The children also enjoyed the barrel and tractor rides in glorious sunshine.

As usual, it was a busy end of term including a barbecue for Year 6 who were celebrating the end of their SATs, and an action-packed residential to Condover Hall Activity Centre in Shropshire. They enjoyed a range of exciting activities including a low rope course, zip line, laser maze, abseiling and gladiator wall. Many thanks to Condover Hall and Pastures staff for making it such a fantastic experience for all the children. Also, EYFS and Years 1-4 visited Twinlakes Theme Park as their end of term trip while Years 5 and 6 went to Legoland.

Year 5 and 6’s energetic end of year performance was ‘School of Pop’ about an ex-pop star who becomes the new Year 6 teacher at The Pastures School! The standard of acting and singing proved to be a real treat for every member of the audiences. Congratulations to all the children and staff for giving us such a wonderful production!

The Summer Fair had its usual range of activities and stalls including the children’s ‘Enterprise’ ventures which raised money by selling hand-made products and other activities. For many, the highlight of the fair was ‘Pastures Got Talent’. Congratulations to all our finalists for sharing their amazing talents. Many thanks to the staff for all their hard work and to everyone who attended helping us raise an impressive amount of money.

In our Leavers’ Assembly, we said a sad farewell to the year 6’s. They shared the highlights of their time at The Pastures, and we wished them good luck at their new schools. Finally, at the end of another busy academic year, we would like to thank all the parents, carers and friends of The Pastures for your continued support. Have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 26th August.
