Year 3 and 4 enjoyed their trip to Leicester Cathedral and King Richard III Visitor Centre. They found out about how Richard became King, the events of the Battle of Bosworth and, of course, the subsequent discovery of Richard’s remains in a Leicester car park. The children particularly enjoyed a Medieval Knight Workshop, finding out about the lengthy process of putting on a suit of armour with every child having the opportunity to handle the artefacts. The children were complimented on their impeccable behaviour. Thank you to all the staff for such an enjoyable day.

A member of Severn Trent’s Education Team visited The Pastures to deliver an assembly about the importance of clean water and how to conserve it. Top tips included having showers that last no longer than four minutes, not running a tap when brushing your teeth and avoiding using a hosepipe where possible. She also ran workshops for Years 3 and 4

After working incredibly hard in SATs week, Year 6 earned their treat trip to Narborough park as well as their chips and ice-cream! They are looking forward to their residential at the High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre, Condover Hall in Shropshire. Meanwhile, rehearsals are in full swing for the Year 5/6 end of term production ‘School of Pop.’

A big thank you to everyone who provided a huge amount of wildflower seeds as part of school’s Seed Day. The Eco Council have sown them on one edge of the field and both children and staff are looking forward to a beautiful wildflower meadow and lots of pollinating insects.

Finally, a date for your diary! Our Summer Fair is on Sunday 22nd June from 11.00am to 2.00pm. There will be the usual mixture of games, refreshments and stalls including the children’s ‘Enterprise’ ventures. The highlight of the afternoon will be the final of ‘Pastures Got Talent’ with children performing and hoping to be the overall winner! We look forward to seeing you there!
