Despite the extremely mixed weather, everyone returned to school keen to share their summer holiday memories. For many, the highlight was watching the Women’s World Cup, even though the Lionesses narrowly lost in the final.
We welcomed new teachers: Miss Kew-Moss who is in EYFS, Miss Barfield in Year 3/4 and Miss Gackowska in Year 5/6. We also welcomed back Mrs Webster who will be working in Year 3/4. In EYFS there are 43 new children; they have all settled well and are enjoying finding out about themselves and their families. Children in Year 1/2 are finding out about The Battle of Bosworth with a trip to the battlefield to look forward to. Year 3/4 are finding out about the lives of the Ancient Greeks while Year 5/6 are investigating World War II and will be visiting Beaumanor Hall to further their learning. As always, a busy start to the new year!
Finally, a word of thanks to our premises officer, Mr Fisher and his small band of helpers who have been busy throughout the summer, improving our school. We really appreciate your hard work and school is looking great!
