Our year 4 children have recently returned from their two-night residential trip in the Hollowford Centre in Derbyshire. They had such a great time taking part in activities such as rock climbing, high ropes and canoeing, making memories to last a lifetime.
We’ve also had a fantastic trip to Bosworth Battlefield, where the children in years 2 and 3 found out all about what it was like to be a soldier in the 1400s, what they wore and what weapons they used. They even got a chance to re-enact some battle manoeuvres and try on some of the clothes from this time period. This really brought their Battle of Bosworth learning to life!
In school, our children in EYFS and Year 1 were visited by some very cuddly ducklings, as part of their learning about the changes between the seasons. Everyone was very excited to stroke their soft feathers and feed them some peas.
Our sporting activities have also continued with some of our year 5/6 children taking part in a netball tournament against other schools from the Blaby district. They all played brilliantly and showed great resilience and sportsmanship.
We can’t believe it’s nearly the summer term already, but we’re looking forward to longer nights and warmer weather over the next few weeks.
