It may be getting darker and colder, but we’re still really busy at Red Hill Field and it’s been great to have our after-school activity clubs back up and running again. The children have been really enjoying them all and are looking forward to taking part in some competitive sports matches soon. We’ve also had plenty of representatives at the Blaby Cross Country meets this month where our children have seen some fantastic results. We’ve now selected our Sports Ambassadors for the year who are ready to get started on promoting more sports activities around school after their recent training at Countesthorpe College.
This month we celebrated Harvest Festival and parents very kindly brought in lots of donations that were gratefully received by Mission Foodbank in Enderby. This is run by Enderby Life Church and their Minister Chris Thompson came into school to take the donations and also hosted a fantastic assembly for the children, telling them all about the great work that they do. We also run our own Foodbank at Red Hill Field in connection with the charity FareShare. Surplus food is collected from Tesco Express on a daily basis which is then made available outside school for anyone from our local community, helping to end food poverty and reduce food waste.
We recently welcomed a large number of prospective parents into school for the first of our Open Events for families looking for a school for their child for 2023. We love showing people around our lovely school and we are so proud of the way the children speak to our visitors. If you are looking for a school for next year keep an eye out for our next Open Day on 1st November!
