In April, we waved our year 4 children off to Derbyshire for their two-night residential trip to the Hollowford Centre. They took part in activities such as rock climbing, high ropes and canoeing, such a great experience for everyone. The children behaved brilliantly and were a real credit to our school.
Move it March has drawn to a close and we’ve been super impressed by the huge effort made by our children to take part in sporting activities and record each 15 minutes completed. 86% of our school got involved and some of them reached the platinum target several times over! We’re eagerly awaiting the results to see if we’ve done enough to get Blaby Bears to the top of the leader board.
Staying with the sporting theme, our Year 5/6 Netball team put on a fantastic display of sporting skills when they took part in the Blaby Schools Netball tournament. After some hard-fought matches, they finished in third place and were honoured with the spirit of the games award!
Children in years 2/3 have been out and about too recently with a trip to Leicester Central Mosque. This was a great way to enrich their learning and help in increase their understanding of Islam.
The Easter break came just in time for everyone to take a well-earned break, and the Friends of Rd Hill Field (PTA) set up a fabulous Easter Hunt where children could search for letters being hosted in windows. This helped to raise funds for the school whilst giving everyone a fun activity to take part in over the holidays!
