Remembrance Procession 2022

Although not the brightest of November mornings, the village came out in great numbers and supported the Remembrance Procession.

We were delighted to have two ex-servicemen who took their rightful place at the head of the procession for the Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides, Scouts, Rangers and Explorers to follow where Enderby Band played beautifully.

The younger members of the Guiding & Scouting groups went into the United Reformed Church with many family members using the theme ‘the commonwealth together in war times’.  In their meetings they had talked about the theme and had activities to display. These included making commonwealth medals, flags and soldiers from different countries. They did these activities to help everyone remember on Remembrance Sunday.

At the Parish Church a Scout and a Guide along with a member of the Church read the names from the war memorial. Both Churches had buglers – Jamie & Naomi – who played The Last Post and The Reveille.

This event is not possible without a lot of volunteers, on the day, thanks to all the super marshals that make it safe and the leaders of the uniformed groups that give their time.

Thanks again to the villagers who lined the route and supported the Remembrance Procession – we will Remember them.
