The church was very happy to be the venue for a book of condolence and minute’s silence following the death of Her Majesty the Queen. Many thanks to the Parish Council for providing these opportunities for the village to come together at this time of national mourning.
A very big thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support on 30 September as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. It is heartwarming to report that by enjoying coffee and cake, purchasing raffle tickets and bric-a-brac £300 was raised. Every penny of this will go to help people living with cancer receive vital medical, practical and emotional support, along with their families. Thank you to all those who donated cakes, raffle prizes etc and made this such an enjoyable morning.
Many thanks also to those who visited the church on Saturday 1 October to see the harvest decorations and enjoy refreshments in the Church Rooms. This year many of the decorations included items for Enderby Mission Food Bank and we hope they are now being enjoyed by those who need a little help at this time.
On Sunday 2 October members of the congregation enjoyed lunch together at The Red Lion. Thank you to Tina and her staff for feeding us so well and for making everyone very welcome.
