We had terrific support for Huncote’s part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 29 September. Many thanks to everyone who provided delicious cakes, raffle prizes and bric-a-brac, or made a donation. The total raised was £415, which is a fantastic result. Thank you.
A letter of thanks has been received from Leicester Animal Aid following the Pet Blessing in church on Sunday afternoon 1 October when a collection of £66.50 was taken for the charity along with donations of pet food and bedding. Helen Wilber from Animal Aid, who was also our speaker, writes that they couldn’t help 300 dogs and cats each year without the kindness and support of those in the local community. LAA now have Christmas cards and other items on sale and also have two charity shops in their grounds if any Journal readers would like to add their support.
Another reminder that Social Space continues to take place in the Church Rooms on Wednesday mornings, 10 am – 12 noon. Now that the cooler weather is with us, why not come along for a warm drink and some friendly company?
