If you’re looking for a fun way to stay active this summer, playing tennis at Enderby Lawn Tennis Club might be just what you need! We are opposite Enderby Leisure Centre, and it is easy to book a court on EnderbyLawnTennisClub.co.uk. You do not have to be a member to book, and rackets and balls are available to borrow if you don’t have any. Courts are available every day of the week from 8am to 10pm. You can also have a go at tennis at our Open Day on Saturday 20 May from 12 to 4pm.
Tennis is a sport for life with many benefits such as promoting teamwork, social skills and sportsmanship, coordination, agility and balance, strategic thinking and problem solving.
Playing tennis also has a wide range of health benefits that make it an ideal physical activity for anyone at any age. Benefits include lowering blood pressure, increasing bone density, lowering body fat, improving muscle tone, strength, and flexibility.
Enderby Lawn Tennis Club (ELTC) offers a wide range of tennis activities and if you are interested in improving your game you can get coaching from our Lawn Tennis Association registered coach, who provides courses for children and adults.
Our social tennis sessions for adults run every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am to 12 noon. The Monday and Friday sessions are more relaxed and are great for people of all ages who enjoy a friendly hit on court and for people trying out tennis or getting back into tennis. You can come along to any social session to have a go, just let us know when you will be coming by emailing EnderbyTennis@gmail.com so we can arrange for a member to make you welcome.
ELTC participate in the Leicestershire inter club leagues and are fielding 9 teams this summer. If you are interested in playing in a women’s or men’s team or would like to learn more about the club, please email us at EnderbyTennis@gmail.com or visit our website EnderbyLawnTennisClub.co.uk
ELTC are proud of our achievements and were excited to be awarded the Leicestershire Club of the Year Award by Greg Rusedski at the Tennis Leicestershire Award Evening in February. We are a charity promoting tennis for everyone and our volunteers and coach run sessions for adults with learning disabilities and children with special education mental health needs. We have also recently installed a defibrillator, with the help of the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust, which is available for public use.
