Taste the Place launch

Tantalising the tastebuds is the aim of an exciting new campaign to showcase the very best in food and drink across Blaby District.

In collaboration with Visit Leicester, Blaby District Council has launched Taste the Place. The scheme highlights the top local independent producers, restaurants, cafes, delis, farm shops, pubs and more, to reveal the diverse range of the region’s food and drink providers.

A Taste Adventure Map has been specially produced in partnership with the Great Food Club, the East Midlands number one food and drink guide. See here: Taste The Place (visitblaby.org.uk)

The Map takes culinary explorers on a sensation-filled journey around the District’s award-winning, unique and independent food and drink offerings. The Map is accompanied by a promotional video giving a taste of what people can find locally. There’s also a new dedicated section on the Visit Blaby District website.

The campaign is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and was officially launched on Tuesday 23 January, at Lakeside Bar and Bistro, Stanton Lakes.

As well as the campaign launch the event successfully brought together food and drink businesses from across the District to network, connect with potential suppliers and customers and show off the best of their food and drink offerings.

The event also featured a short presentation from Visit Leicester around the wider-reaching regional campaign and its benefits for both the District and County.
