Enderby Lawn Tennis Club were presented with the LTA Tennis Club of the Year Award for Leicestershire by Greg Rusedski at the Tennis Leicestershire annual awards ceremony in February. It was an amazing night. The award was achieved by the dedication of the volunteers and members who have made the club a great place to play tennis.
We welcome everyone to come and enjoy a game of tennis on our courts. It is great fun for friends and family and regular play helps you get fit and keeps you healthy. Go to EnderbyLawnTennisClub.co.uk to book a court or to become a member. We welcome players of all ages and abilities. You do not have to be a member to book a court, we even lend you rackets and balls if you don’t have any.
The club became a charity in 2019 with the aim of making tennis accessible to everyone and was commended for the many initiatives we have done including providing free tennis sessions for children from Danemill School and for adults with learning difficulties. In April we will begin free tennis coaching for pupils from a Special Education Mental Health school.
The club has many social play sessions where members can just turn up and play and has 13 mens, womens, and mixed teams that compete in the Leicestershire inter club leagues. We collected two league winner and two runners up certificates for 2022 from Greg Rusedski at the awards ceremony.
Our online booking system means anyone can book a court to play on any day from 8am to 10pm. Our all-weather courts are playable all year round with floodlights for darker evenings.
Our coach, Tom Mattinson, coaches children on Monday and Wednesday afternoon/evenings and does adult classes and individual coaching too.
Further details about the club membership (new members get a discount of 25%) and coaching are available on our website.
The club is run entirely by volunteers and if you would like to volunteer to help at the club, please email us at enderbytennis@gmail.com
