Our village church was beautifully decorated in memory of all those who lost their lives in WW2 and who we remembered on May 8th, VE Day.
The plaque shows the names of those who gave their lives during World War 2, including a member of the RAF who is buried in an official war grave in the churchyard.
The main war memorial shows the names of those who died during World War 1, with the small plaque below commemorating Jack Smith, who lost his life during the Korean War.
The Parish Council organised an event on the village recreation ground on the evening of VE Day, which began with the church bells being rung at 6.30. The church was open at this time for people to come in and see the displays.
