In line with the evolving Coronavirus situation, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is now able to further ease visiting restrictions across hospitals and inpatient units whilst still maintaining Covid-19 safety guidance.

The change means each patient can see up to two visitors at any time. In addition, visiting can now be longer than one hour, with prior agreement with the ward.

A visit can be agreed for: Patients with a learning disability; Patients with dementia; Adults, children and young people with severe mental health issues; Patients at end of life; Patients requiring carer support (informal or formal) at meal times.

Permitted visitors should only attend hospital provided they: Have had no coronavirus symptoms in the last 10 days, or any symptoms of a respiratory illness (chest or nasal congestion; wet or dry cough; sneezing; stuffy or runny nose; fatigue; body/muscle aches; high temperature/fever; sore throat; headaches; altered taste and sense of smell); Have had no sickness or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours; Have obtained a negative lateral flow test result on the day of the visit; Are not self-isolating because of a positive PCR test, or because of contact isolation based on vaccination status, in line with government guidance; Observe mask wearing, hand hygiene and social distancing guidance while on site.

PLEASE NOTE: Face masks remain mandatory in hospital sites.
